Burns Suppers
In the weeks around the 25th of January, Burns Suppers are held all over the UK and around the world. Traditionally, the haggis is paraded around the room led by a piper.
Over the years I have been to well over a hundred Burns nights ranging from large corporate events, Clubs and Societies, Village Halls, pubs, restaurants, Care Homes and Burns nights in private houses.
Traditionally, the Selkirk Grace and the Address to the Haggis are given by persons other than the piper, but more often than not, I am now also asked to give the Selkirk Grace and Address the Haggis.
I have memorised these and perform them with all the appropriate actions to aid understanding of the poem and to give added enjoyment for the audience.
